18 March 2014: The article "Observations of an extreme storm in interplanetary space caused by successive coronal mass ejections" by Liu et al. (including COMESEP co-author Christian Möstl) was published in Nature Communications 5, Article number: 3481, doi:10.1038/ncomms4481.

The COMESEP Year 3 Final Meeting was organized by BIRA-IASB and held in Brussels, Belgium, 28-30 Jan. 2014.

The COMESEP Alert System was launched at the Tenth European Space Weather Week meeting, 18-22 Nov. 2013, Antwerp, Belgium.

The COMESEP 2nd Year Progress Meeting was organized by Hvar Observatory and took place at Zagreb Observatory, Zagreb, Croatia, 15-19 April 2013.

K., Tranquille, C.: "Initial Fe/O Enhancements in Large, Gradual, Solar Energetic Particle Events: Observations from Wind and Ulysses", Sol. Phys., online August 2012, doi: 10.1007/s11207-012-0064-z, received the 45th Alan Berman Research Publication Award, 2012 ARPAD Award, Naval Research Laboratory, USA.

May 2012: Corinna Gressl, who performed her diploma thesis within the COMESEP project and proceeds now as a PhD student, received the "CCMC student research award" for work performed using CCMC tools (UNIGRAZ announcement). Her diploma thesis and ongoing COMESEP work is on the comparison of ENLIL solar wind modeling with in situ measurements.The award includes an invitation to the upcoming SHINE workshop, where she will give an oral presentation on her results.

The COMESEP 1st Year Progress Meeting was hosted by the Institute of Astronomy and Astrophysics at the National Observatory of Athens and took place in Athens, Greece from 17-20 April, 2012.
